An all-in-one guide to the Zenyum Invisible Braces process

Are you thinking about straightening your crooked teeth or have already begun your braces journey? Here’s everything you need to know about Zenyum’s pre, during and post-treatment.

1. Pre-assessment

Online smile assessment

Zenyum is here to make the process of straightening your teeth easier which is why we offer a free online smile assessment. That way, you can save that trip to the dentist and instead, check if you are suitable for Zenyum Invisible Braces from the comfort of your own home.

All we need are 4 snaps of your teeth and our council of dental experts will evaluate the pictures of your teeth to understand your suitability for ZenyumClear™ or ZenyumClear™ Plus Aligners. This evaluation is free of charge. And you will know the outcome of the process in just 2 – 3 working days.

Dental visits

The most important step of your smile journey is your initial dentist visit, where you get the necessary X-rays and 3D scans to begin your treatment plan. Once you get approved for Zenyum, we will arrange your initial face-to-face consultation with our partner dentists.

Your dental visit costs just RM350 with the following procedures:

  • A full mouth examination (gotta make sure everything’s good to go!).
  • X-rays so we have a clear picture of your bone structure. This gives a good idea of how your whole mouth will eventually look after aligners.
  • 3D scans, so we can customise your aligners.
  • After this visit, we will even provide you with a video simulation of your teeth movement  with braces.

X-rays are an incredibly important step in your Zenyum Invisible Braces journey. Although we can give a preliminary assessment via the photos you submitted, we’ll still need to take a look at your bone structure.

Without X-rays, your bone structure might throw us a curveball that affects your treatment outcome – which is definitely bad news!

Your bones, hidden beneath your gums, give us insights into exactly how your teeth will move. This allows us to plan around that and gives a good idea of how your whole mouth will eventually look after aligners.

Treatment approval

Now it is time to take a look at your customised treatment plan and approve it to begin the real part of your smile journey! After your consultation, you will receive your results within 2-3 weeks.

The treatment plan will show you the current state of your teeth, as well as where your Zenyum journey will eventually take them. It comes in the form of a 3D image that lets you see your teeth from every angle, giving you a clear picture of how your teeth will move throughout every stage of your treatment plan. Check out a sample 3D simulation below!

Once you are satisfied with the treatment plan and certain that your dental needs are met, you can finally give Zenyum the green light by making your first payment. Your aligners will now go into production, it really is that simple!

2. During the treatment

Aligner fitting

We know how excited you are at this point! But just give it another 5-6 weeks for us to perfect your aligner sets.

Once they are ready, we will call you in for your second dental appointment. This is when you get your aligners fitted and receive all your sets.

Your treating doctor may conduct a process called Interproximal Reduction (IPR), to create minor gaps between your teeth. This is an important step that helps make space for your teeth to move.

From that moment, in just 6 to 9 months on average, you will achieve a confident, new smile!

Treatment monitoring

It’s all about being compliant with your wear time to make sure your smile journey ends quickly. The best part is that we have our Zenyum App to help track your progress and wear time.

You’ll be snapping pictures of your teeth every ten days and uploading the pix into the app to ensure that your teeth are moving according to your treatment plan.

Additionally, should any SOS situations arise (like if you lose your aligners, etc.), you can contact our customer care team through our app as well. See? Easy peasy.

3. Post-treatment

Having a straight smile does not just stop after your last aligner. Maintaining your smile is for life!

Once you’ve completed all your aligner sets, you’ll be advised on your retainer wear time by your dentist. You can check out our guide to learn more about the differences between retainers and braces

We hope this gives you an insight into what your Zenyum smile journey will look like and cleared up any doubts about invisible braces.
