Single arch braces
While it might be possible to get braces for only 1 jaw or set of teeth (aka single arch treatments), it is more common to have braces for both the upper and lower teeth. You will also have to consult a dentist on this along with taking x-rays and other tests. Because, if not careful, getting braces for just one arch can lead to many complications.

Can I get Zenyum Invisible Braces for only my upper/lower teeth?
Zenyum Invisible Braces is designed to treat both upper and lower teeth at the same time, because this gives better and more predictable results. If your teeth are crooked on one jaw only, we’ll focus tooth movement on that arch, with just small movements of the teeth of the opposing jaw.
Here’s how Zenyum clear aligners work to straighten both your upper and lower teeth:
- Customised treatment plan through 3D imaging: your treatment plan will show you the current state of your teeth, as well as where your Zenyum journey will eventually take them. It comes in the form of a 3D image that lets you see your teeth from every angle, giving you a clear picture of how your teeth will move throughout every stage of your treatment plan.
- Clear aligners shift and adjust your teeth continuously: each set of Zenyum invisible braces is designed to achieve a certain position for both arches based on your treatment plan. As long as you wear your aligners for 20/22 hours a day and swap them out on time, you can be assured that the results will go as planned.
- Treatment monitoring through the Zenyum app: Our Zenyum customer care team will also guide you via the live chat and ensure you follow through your smile journey. You’ll be snapping pictures of your pearly whites every ten days to ensure that your teeth are moving according to your treatment plan.
Although you might have problems with just your upper (or lower) jaw, it’s important to remember that braces (regardless of type) require the movement of both jaws to correct your bite. If you adjust only one jaw while the other stays in the same position, it is likely to lead to complications after finishing the braces treatment.
Does the cost change if you get braces for just 1 set of teeth?
In terms of cost, both braces and aligners are usually manufactured in sets for both jaws, so the cost of single-jaw braces will not be very different from braces on both jaws.
Compared to traditional braces, clear aligners will not only save you on cost, but on time as well. Treatment times for metal braces take an average of almost 36 months. On the other hand, our Invisible Braces process takes only 3 to 15 months depending on the amount of teeth movement needed.
It’s a win-win with invisible braces!
